Abstract
Die Beiträge des Readers “Wenn KSA zur Schule geht” geben den Inhalt des gleichnamigen Workshops im Rahmen der 8. Tage der Kultur- und Sozialanthropologie 2013 wieder. Ziel unseres Workshops war es, kultur- und sozialanthropologische Ansätze zu Bildung zu diskutieren und diese mit empirischen Ergebnissen aus Projekten und Forschungsarbeiten in Bildungseinrichtungen zu verknüpfen. Die präsentierten Themenbereiche befassten sich mit Fragen zu sprachlicher und kultureller Identität (Anna-Katharina Draxl), Umgang mit Mehrsprachigkeit (Doris Englisch-Stölner), Analysen zu Migration(en) im Schulbuch (Christa Markom und Heidemarie Weinhäupl), einem Projektbericht über Interkulturelles Mentoring (Susanne Binder) sowie Einblicke in die Arbeit der Initiative YCC – Youth Creating Change (Hanna Klien). Der Workshop diente zudem der Vernetzung, um Synergien auszuloten und in weiterer Folge Kooperationen zwischen Bildungseinrichtungen und Kultur- und Sozialanthropolog_innen zu stärken.

English abstract
The articles of the reader “When Cultural and Social Anthropology goes to school” reflect the content of a workshop of the same title at the 8th Vienna Anthropology Days 2013. Participants of the workshop discussed various approaches to education and learning in the context of cultural and social anthropology. Furthermore, we aimed to link the discussion to empirical results of projects and research conducted in educational institutions. The papers that were presented focused on linguistic and cultural identity (Anna-Katharina Draxl), multilingualism in schools (Doris Englisch-Stölner), the analysis of migration(s) in textbooks (Christa Markom and Heidemarie Weinhäupl), a project about intercultural mentoring (Susanne Binder) as well as the activities of the organization Youth Creating Change Austria (Hanna Klien). Moreover, the workshop offered possibilities for networking, planning future co-operations and amplify the exchange between educational institutions and cultural and social anthropologists.

Susanne Binder, Mag.a Dr.in, ist Lektorin am Institut für Kultur- und Sozialanthropologie der Universität Wien und an der Fachhochschule St. Pölten im Studienlehrgang Soziale Arbeit. Sie hält Fortbildungsseminare für Lehrer_innen an der Pädagogischen Hochschule Wien sowie an der KPH Kirchlich Pädagogischen Hochschule Krems. Sie studierte Kultur- und Sozialanthropologie und Europäische Ethnologie in Wien und Utrecht, Niederlande. Seit 2010 leitet sie das Projekt “Interkulturelles Mentoring für Schulen”, das auch von ihr konzipiert und aufgebaut wurde.
Susanne Binder, Mag.a Dr.in, is a lecturer at the Department of Cultural and Social Anthropology of the University of Vienna as well as at the University of Applied Sciences in St. Pölten in the field of social work. She offers trainings for teachers at the College of Education in Vienna and Krems. She studied Cultural and Social Anthropology and European Ethnology in Vienna and Utrecht, The Netherlands. Since 2010 she has been directing the project “Intercultural Mentoring in Schools”, which she has designed and organized herself.

Anna-Katharina Draxl
Anna-Katharina Draxl, Mag.a, ist Studentin des Masterstudiums Deutsch als Fremd- und Zweitsprache an der Universität Wien und als Deutschtrainerin in der Erwachsenenbildung tätig. Sie studierte Kultur- und Sozialanthropologie in Wien und absolvierte das Wahlfachmodul Deutsch als Fremd- und Zweitsprache. 2010 unterrichtete sie als Deutsch als Fremdsprache-Auslandspraktikantin an Universitäten in Omsk und Ekaterinburg, Russland.
Anna-Katharina Draxl, Mag.a, is acquiring an MA in German as a Foreign Language at the University of Vienna and is teaching German in adult education. She graduated in Cultural and Social Anthroplogy in Vienna, also completing further studies in German as a Foreign Language. In 2010 she taught German as a foreign language at the Universities of Omsk and Ekaterinburg, Russia.

Doris Englisch-Stölner
Doris Englisch-Stölner, Mag.a, ist Mitarbeiterin im Sprachförderzentrum Wien (Stadtschulrat für Wien), Grundschullehrerin und Ethnologin. Sie ist zudem Lektorin am Institut für Kultur- und Sozialanthropologie der Universität Wien und Referentin an der Pädagogischen Hochschule Wien in den Bereichen Interkulturelles Lernen und Mehrsprachigkeit im Schulwesen.
Doris Englisch-Stölner, Mag.a, is a primary school teacher as well as anthropologist and works at the Sprachförderzentrum Vienna (Language Support Centre). Furthermore, she is a lecturer at the Department of Cultural and Social Anthropology of the University of Vienna and the College of Education in Vienna teaching intercultural education and multilingualism in the educational system.

Hanna Klien
Hanna Klien, MMag.a MA, ist Dissertantin und Lektorin am Institut für Kultur- und Sozialanthropologie der Universität Wien. Seit 2012 ist sie DOC-Stipendiatin der Österreichischen Akademie der Wissenschaften. Außerdem absolvierte sie ein Diplomstudium der Romanistik sowie den Master of Anglophone Literatures and Cultures in Wien. Ehrenamtlich engagiert sie sich im Bildungsbereich als Gründerin und Obfrau des Vereins “Youth Creating Change Austria”.
Hanna Klien, MMag.a MA, is a doctoral candidate and lecturer at the Department of Cultural and Social Anthropology of the University of Vienna. Since 2012 she is holding a scholarship of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. Moreover, she has completed a diploma course in Spanish as well as an MA in Anglophone Literatures and Cultures at the University of Vienna. She has founded the organization “Youth Creating Change Austria”, which is actively involved in voluntary educational work.

Eva Kössner
Eva Kössner, MMag.a, ist Dissertantin am Institut für Kultur- und Sozialanthropologie der Universität Wien und 2013/14 Junior Fellow am IFK Internationales Forschungszentrum Kulturwissenschaften an der Kunstuniversität Linz. Sie studierte Kultur- und Sozialanthropologie sowie Arabistik in Wien und ist seit Jänner 2013 Mitarbeiterin im Projekt “Interkulturelles Mentoring für Schulen”.
Eva Kössner, MMag.a, is a doctoral candidate at the Department of Cultural and Social Anthropology of the University of Vienna. In 2013/14 she is Junior Fellow at the IFK International Research Center for Cultural Studies at the University of Art and Design Linz. She graduated in Cultural and Social Anthropology as well as Arabian Studies in Vienna. Since 2013 she has been working in the project “Intercultural Mentoring in Schools”.

Christa Markom
Christa Markom, Mag.a Dr.in, ist Lektorin am Institut für Kultur- und Sozialanthropologie der Universität Wien. Sie ist außerdem Sozialpädagogin und hält Seminare in der Erwachsenenbildung bzw. Jugendarbeit zum Themenbereich Rassismus, Migration und Mehrfachdiskriminierungen. Sie leitet derzeit gemeinsam mit Heidemarie Weinhäupl das Projekt “Migration(en) und Vielfalt in österreichischen Schulbüchern”.
Christa Markom, Mag.a Dr.in, is a lecturer at the Department of Cultural and Social Anthropology of the University of Vienna. Moreover, she is a social pedagogue and organizes seminars in adult as well as youth education focusing on racism, migration and multiple discrimination. Currently, she is directing the project “Migration(s) and Pluralism in Austrian textbooks” with Heidemarie Weinhäupl.

Heidemarie Weinhäupl
Heidemarie Weinhäupl, Mag.a, ist Lektorin am Institut für Kultur- und Sozialanthropologie und leitet derzeit gemeinsam mit Christa Markom das Projekt “Migration(en) und Vielfalt in österreichischen Schulbüchern”. Von 2011 bis 2013 war sie im Projekt “Migration(en) im Schulbuch” am Ludwig Boltzmann-Institut für Europäische Geschichte und Öffentlichkeit beschäftigt. Ihre Dissertation am Institut für Kultur- und Sozialanthropologie der Universität Wien behandelt das Thema “Raumbildung, Tourismus und Entwicklung an der Küste Ecuadors”.
Heidemarie Weinhäupl, Mag.a, is a lecturer at the Department of Cultural and Social Anthropology of the University of Vienna. Currently, she is directing the project “Migration(s) and Pluralism in Austrian textbooks” with Christa Markom. From 2011 to 2013 she was working in the project “Migration(s) in textbooks” at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of European History and Public Spheres. Her dissertation at the Department of Cultural and Social Anthropology at the University of Vienna is on “Tourism and Development on the Coast of Ecuador”.
