Wandel zur Nachhaltigen Entwicklung aus kultur- und sozialanthropologischer Perspektive und der mögliche Beitrag der LandwirtInnen

Die Debatten um nachhaltige Entwicklung gelten zweifelsohne als die am kontroversesten diskutierten Aushandlungsprozesse unserer Zeit, nicht zuletzt weil sie auch mehr und mehr als am dringlichsten vorgestellt werden. Ausgehend von einem sozialökologischen Interaktionsverständnis zwischen Ökologie-Ökonomie und Sozialem soll skizziert werden welche grundlegend verbindende Stellung kulturelle Normen und Werte zwischen und innerhalb dieser elementarsten Sphären gesellschaftlichen Seins einnehmen. Im Sinne eines solchen soziokulturellen Umweltverständnisses erscheint die dieser Tage wieder vermehrt aufgegriffene Great Transformation von Karl Polanyi in neuem Licht. Zeitgleich werden dadurch viele blinde Flecken der Nachhaltigkeitsforschung deutlich, die durch kultur- und sozialanthropologische Blickwinkel ausgeleuchtet werden können.
Der vorliegende Beitrag möchte die vielen dadurch aufgeworfenen normativen Fragen adressieren: Warum Transformation und nicht Transition? Welche Rolle spielen Utopien in Zusammenhang mit Verantwortung, Zuständigkeit und Vorbild?
Abschließend wird theoretisch diskutiert wie sich die Landwirtschaft in einer kulturellen Transformation verorten lässt, um vorausblickend nachhaltige Entwicklung als Chance für kollektive Aushandlungsprozesse zu begreifen, die diverseste Formen menschlichen Lebens sichern und ausbauen.

English abstract
Debates about sustainable development are undoubtedly the most controversial negotiation processes of our time, not least because they are presented more and more as the most urgent ones. Based on a socio-ecological interaction model between ecology, economic and social aspects it will be outlined, which fundamentally unifying position cultural norms and values have between and within these basic spheres of social being. For the purposes of such a socio-cultural understanding of environment, Karl Polanyis Great Transformation, which is increasingly apprehended these days, reappears in new light. Thus many blind spots of sustainability research simultaneously emerge, which can be illuminated by cultural and social anthropological perspectives.
This paper would like to address the many raised normative issues: Why transformation and not transition? What role play utopias in the context of responsibility, competence and role model?
Finally the articles aim is to discuss in theory how agriculture can situate in a cultural transformation. So in prospective sustainable development can be grasped as an opportunity for collective negotiation processes to safeguard the most diverse forms of human life or even to prepare ground for ongoing diffusion.

Markus Löw geboren 1991 in Linz a. d. Donau. Bachelorstudium der Geographie und Regionalentwicklung sowie der Kultur- und Sozialanthropologie an der Universität Wien. Seit 2014 Masterstudium der Sozialen Ökologie an der Fakultät für inter- und transdisziplinäre Forschung und Fortbildung der Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt|Graz|Wien.
Forschungsinteresse: Soziale Ökologie, Landnutzung und Landnutzungswandel, Subsistenzwirtschaft, Ernährungssouveränität, Food-Systems, Transformationsprozesse, Postwachstum in Theorie und Praxis, Kultureller Wandel nachhaltiger Entwicklung.
